FAQ

    Q. What are people saying about 3 of Cups Psychic Event Entertainment Inc.?

    A. Our mission is to give organizers and guests what they want in psychic event entertainment. Our testimonials show how we measure up. Back to FAQ

    Q. How late or early can we book you?

    A. You can make a request for us to start or finish whenever you like; however, our standard hours of event operation are between 10am and 11pm. This seems to fit for the majority of special event parties. When it doesn't, it's because something out of the norm is happening such as a Midnight Madness promotion or a Halloween party.

In addition there are a number of considerations when booking outside of normal hours: traffic, guest alcohol consumption, road or driving hazzards, weather conditions, public transit unavailability, crime, reader fatigue, etc..

If the reader is available for an unusual start or end time, there is an early or late booking fee added to the regular entertainment fee. Back to FAQ

    Q. How much is your service?

    A. Fees are competitive and customized, and our added-value service offers a strong impact and lasting impression. We look at whether your event is corporate, business, community, or private as well as your desires, location, and budget. We do have basic competitive rates and we work within your budget so filling out our Organizer Form will allow us to give an accurate quote. In other words, please only contact us when you have an event where entertainment is to be filled. We also have a price guarantee.

We also have specials from time-to-time. Any other questions? Please see our fees page. Back to FAQ

    Q. How far in advance should I book your services?

    A. We would like at least two weeks notice in advance of the date that you would like us to attend your special event so we can avoid rushing around and truly give your event the best we have to offer. If we are given less than eight day's notice, a surcharge of $50 may be added (it depends on how busy we are at the time). Finally, a minimum of * three* business days notice is required so that everything runs smoothly. Having said that, it doesn't hurt to ask for a last minute request. If you have a request for same-day booking (for example) feel free to ask if we are available but we suggest to book early to avoid disappointment. Back to FAQ

    Q. What type of reading methods does 3 of Cups use?

    A. 3 of Cups Psychic Event Entertainment Inc. focuses on providing amazing readers who use different tools to read your guests' past, present, and/or future; personality, past lives; career, love, financial, & other life concerns; and basic fortune telling questions (When will I get married? How many children will I have? Will I make a lot of money? Etc.).

We do not read on anything that a licenced professional such as a doctor or lawyer would answer, anything that would be emotionally damaging to hear, or anything illegal. Therefore, we steer clear from health questions, court cases, whether your guest will get into an accident, when they will die, etc.. In addition, all our readers have signed a code of ethics contract and are committed to providing exceptional, positive, non-threatening / damaging readings.

3 of Cups is about providing fun, uplifting, and positive fortune telling experiences. We keep it light as much as possible unless a guest is very clear they can handle something challenging based on a challenging question. Even then we are careful with what we say as life is full of freewill and not everything is set in stone.

The term Psychic is an umbrella term for accessing and knowing information beyond normal everyday means.

Any reading method can answer the same question. Readers gravitate to certain reading methods such as tarot, palm, numerology, astrology, runes, tea leaf / coffee grounds reading, handwriting analysis, face reading, clairvoyance, clairsentience, clairaudience, claircognizance (psychic), crystal ball, skrying, etc. based on personal preference and affinity to the tool. All our readers have something different to offer.

We provide limited spiritual methods such as chaneling, mediumship, or seances that connect with passed over loved ones, spirit entities, or angels. When we are unable to offer this service, we can recommend psychics who do. Do keep in mind that these services are best for smaller groups (under 10 people) individual or group or larger groups in an audience format (50 +). Medium readings can be very serious and emotionally deep for some guests; however, everyone at 3 of Cups knows they are entertaining and do their best to keep it light, positive, and uplifting..

For events that have a special theme such as a tea party, it makes sense to have a reader that reads tea leaves. Or if you are having an Arabic or Bollywood themed event, a reader who reads palms would be great. Otherwise, focus on the reader personality rather than the tool they use. To note: All of our readers are AMAZING! :)

We provide expert and professional serious reading entertainment, strolling readings, themed party packages with our psychic party option, event consultation, decor and stage design work and consultation, We are not special event planners but can make some suggestions OR refer you to an event planner. Q. Is it against anyone's religion? Will my guests be upset if we have a Tarot, Palmist, or other type of reader at our party?

    A. There are religious dogmas that suggest not to use any divinatory techniques, information, and/or tools to foretell the future. The Catholic church is one religious example. Having faith in God is the prevailing theme.

However, guests who are religious can usually still enjoy a great reading as information about the past and present which doesn't divine (foretell) the future, receive angel card readings, and personality readings. And in reality all future predictions are possible outcomes only as freewill and other aspects are to be considered. In other words, we look at what's going on today to come to a conclusion of what *might* happen in the future.

With that said, for guests who don't want to know about the future we can also focus on their character and personality through any of the tools we use such as numerology, astrology, palmistry, or tarot or tell them what's going on in their life right now -- purely entertaining. We just ask that the sitter/organizer tells us to *not* make any predictions about the future. :-) Back to FAQ

    Q. What's the difference between serious and just-4-fun entertainment?

    A. Serious yet fun entertainment is one in which the entertainer has spent years studying, practicing, and has a high level of proficiency, accuracy, and credentials. The majority of people would not be able to perform at that level "on the fly". Our readers use a variety of ancient wisdom tools and other methods to deliver readings. This entertainment is considered more valuable.

Fun entertainment is one in which the entertainer is basically a warm and affable body with a quick personality. Anyone with charisma and charm could entertain without dedicating themselves to study and professionalism. Oracle decks that have pre-printed words on them and palm reading that is based on *cold reading* techniques which is different from palm readings that are highly accurate and based on education of the palm would be used. These readings may not be accurate. This entertainment is considered less valuable.

We provide serious entertainment as we are serious professionals. We are NOT actors! However, we may consider doing just fun readings as long as everyone knew that's exactly what they were getting. In the end, that's not the type of readings we do as we are learned professionals and prefer to uplift the psychic industry rather than keep it in the dark ages. Back to FAQ

    Q. Do you replace readers or give refunds?

    A. In the unlikely event that a reader is not able to fulfil their booking to attend your event (i.e. ill, accident) we reserve the right to find you a replacement reader of equal dollar value or refund the difference. If we are unable to do this, you will receive a full refund. We are not to be held liable for any damages for us not being able to find a replacement or a reader replacement showing up later than the originally booked time. Our only obligation is a full refund. Again, having said that -- we have never had a problem with a reader not showing up and we would do our best to make things right and happy in your world. Back to FAQ

    Q. How much do I have to pay before the event?

    A. A deposit can range between 10 to 90% of the total charge and many organizers pay everything in full before the actual event date. We set the deposit amount based upon a number of reasons and it's rarely negotiable. Corporate, business, and community hosts can pay by cheque or credit card, and post-dated cheque balance before the event and a cash or cheque balance at the event. Individuals having private parties can pay by credit card or Interac Email Money Transfer before the event and a cash balance at the event. Back to FAQ

    Q. Do I need to pay for transportation?

    A. If your venue is outside of the readers area, inaccessible (ease of use is poor), or the reading entertainment ends after 11PM, then there will more than likely be transportation expense (i.e. car rental, gas, or cab).

This currently ranges between $10 and $75 in the greater area such as GTA, GMA, or GVA. So if you know that your area is likely to be inaccessible do not chance the reader taking the TTC as this may result in entertainment being cancelled and the non-refundable deposit being applied to readings in the future or some other acceptable arrangement. Back to FAQ

    Q. Should I give the reader a ride to the venue?

    A. It's inadvisable to offer rides to a reader as the host is responsible for the safety of their passengers and many readers do not feel comfortable accepting rides from someone they have just met (or haven't met). That's why we charge transportation expense fees if the venue is inaccessible to the area of the reader, TTC, or a early/late end time. It's better to be safe than sorry. Back to FAQ

    Q. Do I have the right to cancel the booking?

    A. Yes you can cancel your booking but your deposit is forfeited unless the booking is cancelled within 8 weeks or more of the event date. An administration fee of $25 applies for cancelled bookings to cover merchant, bank and labour fees. If you would like to re-book, we can not guarantee it but will do our best. In exceptional cases, and because of goodwill, we may (at our discretion) give you future services (i.e. rescheduled event, readings, etc.). Back to FAQ

    Q. Do I have the right to ask or expect the reader to stay longer? Will everyone receive a reading?

    A. Please make best efforts in deciding how many hours of entertainment you would like ahead of time because we can't guarantee the reader will be able to stay longer. Depending on the number of readings to do, the standard number of readings a seated reader can perform is between 5 to 10 an hour. A strolling or walk-to reader can perform 15 to 25 an hour. Do expect line-up's for seated readers at most events. The Booking Agent can work with you to avoid this if that's what is wanted. Please see the Booking Process for more information.

How many readings do I need?

As experts in Psychic Event Entertainment here is the suggested rule of thumb when booking the number of readings to be given to your guests:

Where we are the only entertainment beyond a D.J., band, or music, the rule of thumb is:

    • Ideal: 80-100% of your guests read
    • Minimum: 30-50% of your guests read

Where there are other entertainers beyond a D.J., band, or music, the rule of thumb is:

    • Ideal: 30-50% of your guests read
    • Atmosphere: 10-20% of your guests read

    Legend

Ideal: Few to no complaints will be made to other guests or organizers.
Minimum: Most guests will be satisfied though there are likely to be some complaints or requests to keep the reader for longer. (Between Minimum and Ideal is great.)
Atmosphere: This is great for trade shows, gathering a crowd, anywhere you want a long line-up, V.I.P. area within a larger party, etc..

Any less than the suggested number of readings and our impact is dicey or you may find important guests or event stakeholders complaining.

Given that, certainly ask the reader to stay longer if you are enjoying their services. The extra time is $175 for corporate and business events (class A) and $150 for private and community events (Class B) with seated readers and $225 for class A and $175 for class B for strolling, standing, or group readers. This is more than the hourly fee you will pay for your event. The extra charge is because we encourage organizers to get the number of hours needed before the event date due to a number of challenging administrative and reader issues, so please work with the Booking Agent to get exactly what you need for your event!

It's really important for the guest of honour, organizers, and other V.I.P.'s to get their readings within the first half of the time we are booked or they may miss getting a reading. Often, the reader wants to make your guest happy so they give a longer reading if the guest presses for one; however, if you find this is happening, you haven't booked per person, and you don't want the reader to stay longer please do tell the reader and your guests to speed up their readings. :)

As far as flow goes, it's good to introduce the reader to guests (whether that is a wave of the hand from my chair or from your part of the room, an introduction by the host through mic or word of mouth at a larger party, etc..). In other words, guests need to know the reader exists and that they are ready to read. And please do check on the reader 10-20 minutes before the end of the event. Back to FAQ

    Q. What do I and my guests need to know about your services?

    A. It would be helpful if guests knew in advance the types of things they would like to know. Do they have a question that's been on their mind? Do they want a general or specific reading? Do they just want to be "read". Also, it's good to tell them how much time they have with the sitter so that everyone gets a chance to get a reading.

In addition, your guests can be sent to the reader's description page which will outline their bio, divinatory/discovery techniques and tools, and how to ask questions of that reader. Our Bios.

There isn't anything worse than having expectations and then being let down and 3 of Cups strives for organizers and guests to never be let down. So please do let us know what you want.

In order to allow for the maximum number of guests to get a seated reading we ask that if guests have a question on their mind, to state it up front. What often happens is once a general read has been given and rapport built, the guest then has a question but there's often no time to answer it. Please let your guests know this.

Also testing the psychic only delays readings and if it's believed that your group will want to test the psychics, a mentalist magician is better suited for your event.

And while we psychics can make a connection which doesn't require anyone to ask a question it is often in the best interests of those sitting to ask one as the reader can "hone-in" faster due to the limited time of the reading.

You will be provided with a "How to get the Best Reading Possible" pamphlet (upon request), to give to your guests/attendees, when you book our services. Please ask for this specifically by name "How to get the Best Reading Possible" if you would like it for your event.

A three to five minute break every 40-60 minutes may be taken for refresh purposes (bathroom or water break, for example). Back to FAQ

    Q. What does the reader need to perform at their best?

    A. We require a reading area in the most quiet spot -- furthest away from other conversation and music speakers or else we won't be heard by your guests and our voices will cut-out after repeated raising of the voice. Extra rooms, halls, board rooms, offices, rec room, bedroom, etc.. are all good choices. Please chat with us if you are unsure if the space that you have will work for the reader.

Lighting is also important. If it will be dark, let us know so we can bring or request portable lighting (such as candles).

In most cases, table area and chairs are supplied by the organizer and/or venue. If these are not available, please advise us at time of booking and we can work together to create a cozy environment for reader and guest.

If reading outside, a tent or covering against the elements is required and supplied by the organizer, venue, or ourselves. Please state this in advance.

Finally, let us know your expectations in advance; we want to know how you feel and what you want to follow through on your vision. Back to FAQ
